Registration
Policies
Only registrants with badges may attend sessions or
special events (children excepted).
 |
Program participants must register by April
15. |
 |
Everyone over 18 must register, including
non-economist spouses and adult guests. |
 |
Cancellations must be in writing and
postmarked by June 1. |
 |
Refunds will be processed after the conference and
are subject to a $25 handling fee. |
 |
Membership dues are nonrefundable. |
 |
Children (under 18) need not register to
share hotel accommodations or attend special events, but they do need a
purchased ticket for all special events. |
 |
Program participants reserve your housing
now, and make any necessary adjustments on your arrival and departure
dates when your travel plans are confirmed. |
 |
After June 15, registration fees will
increase by $45 and you will be required to register on-site.

Benefits
All conference registrations are entitled to receive:

Conference program with affiliation, phone,
fax, and e-mail of all participants. |

Admittance to all concurrent and general
sessions. |
 |
Waiver of manuscript submission fees for
current members submitting a conference paper to Economic Inquiry or
Contemporary Economic Policy by December 31, 2008. |
 |
Complimentary coffee breaks, luncheon (as
space permits), and
no-host reception. |
 |
Complimentary conference bag.

Special
Activities
 |
Luncheon ticket(s) and any special activity
ticket(s), will be included in the packet you will receive on-site. |

Space is limited for special activities. |
 |
A luncheon ticket is included in each
registration fee; however, space is limited and you must reserve a seat by checking the
appropriate box on the registration payment form. |
 |
Please purchase or reserve all special
activity tickets by June 15. |
 |
Cancellations must be made in writing by
June 30 to receive a refund. We are unable to give refunds for late
cancellations. |
WEAI Welcome Reception
Sunday, June 29, 6:30-8:00 p.m.
Take time to relax, renew old acquaintances,
and make new friends at the WEAI Welcome Reception. There will be a cash bar and
hearty appetizers.
Presidential Luncheon/Business Meeting
Tuesday, July 1, 12:15 to 2:15 p.m.
This
years luncheon features an address by WEAI President Paul Milgrom, Stanford University. Seating will be allotted on a first-come,
first-served basis so make your reservation early. Please note any special
dietary requirements you may have.
Moonlight Dinner Cruise
Tuesday,
July 1, 7:30 p.m.
Enjoy the beautiful moonlit sky
over Hawaii while experiencing a memorable evening aboard the 140-foot, state of
the art vessel, Navatek. You will cruise slowly along the beautifully lit
Honolulu and Waikiki coastline while catching a glimpse of the alluring moon and
starts in the night sky. In addition to sailing along Waikiki Beach, one of the
most famous beaches in the world, this cruise goes beyond Diamond Head where few
people see the hidden shores of the Kahala Coastline --- home to Hawaii's rich
and famous. The buffet menu includes a green salad with an assortment of
dressings, Chicken Kahala, Mahi Mahi Navatek, Kalua Park, steamed vegetables,
steamed white rice, roasted garlic mashed potatoes, sweet bread rolls with
butter, fresh fruit and coconut cake. Beverages include one premium cocktail,
coffee and tea. Roundtrip transportation will be provided to and from the
Sheraton Waikiki. The duration of the cruise tour is from 8:30 to 10:30pm, but
please allow time in your schedule to be transported to and from the event. The
entire event should last from approximately 7:30 to 11:30pm. Details to follow
in your registration packet.

The Sheraton Waikiki accepts
reservations by phone at (808)
921-4611. Be sure to
identify yourself as part of the WEAI conference to receive the reduced group
rate of $185/night single or double. Room types and locations are assigned
based on availability at check in. Upgraded rooms are available at a
slightly higher rate. You can reserve a room
online and receive a confirmation via e-mail.

Group rates apply June 24 through July 7,

Reservations must be made directly with the
Sheraton by phone or online. |

Make your hotel reservations by May 30, after which you risk paying a higher rate or not being accommodated at the
conference hotel. The conference room rates are available to registered
participants for a limited time only. |

When making your reservation,
please make sure to identify yourself as a WEAI conference attendee in
order to get the reduced group room rates. |
 |
Cancellation must be made within 72 hours
of your scheduled arrival to avoid losing your first night's
deposit. |
 |
For your first night's deposit, the
Sheraton accepts Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Diners Club, Discover,
JCB, and Euro Master. |

Airport-to-Hotel Transportation
The Sheraton Waikiki is located approximately
nine miles from the Honolulu International Airport. A taxi or shuttle
sedan to the Sheraton Waikiki is approximately $30-$35 each way and will
take about 20 minutes. For more information about ground transportation,

Audio-Visual
Equipment
Each meeting room will be equipped with an
LCD projector, overhead projector, and screen. BRING YOUR OWN LAPTOP. Flipcharts
will be available at the WEAI registration desk. If you need to rent a
laptop or other equipment is
required, call Robert at (808) 931-8599 for more information. Additional equipment is at your own expense.
